Outstanding. Can't imagine being that close to that Dark Star. Great pics too - Jim had his hands full. Thanks.

Some notes from etree - a few known glitches:

Cuts in Wake Up Little Susie, Dark Star, and Lovelight. (The two cuts in Dark Star are very small, totaling about 30 seconds. The Lovelight cut is huge, about 10 minutes.)
Mic-rustling & adjustments throughout.
The stereo mix becomes steadier after the first few songs.
The band's slightly distorted, though it's still quite listenable, just kinda fuzzy.
The speed's a bit slow.
The track breaks are not always ideal - Uncle John & Katie Mae don't start til 2 minutes into their tracks.

Since this was recorded right up front, it sounds different from other Fillmore East AUDs - Jerry & Phil are loud & upfront, and the vocals more in the background. The Fillmore audience is not as intrusive, in fact it's very quiet & supportive.

"I was seated in the 2nd row center for that one. The real sound of the concert was burned into my brain forever that night, way up close. The tape was recorded with the crummy mics that came with the deck, imagine had I used better mics. If the sound is this good under those conditions, you can imagine how intense and overwhelming was the sound from the deads amps, even the dicks pics (incomplete) of the 13th&14th, while it brings back the fullness of the sound, is missing the blast of the tie dyed amps."
